It's been a tumultuous few days, but thankfully we've been awarded with a strong and stable line-up for By the Sea Festival 2017 at Margate in Dreamland.
The festival will bring The Libertines with Pete Doherty and Carl Barat down to the beach to headline the third year the festival.
The band will be joined by Everything Everything and Metronomy across three days music, with a host other acts still to be announced.
By the Sea Festival will run from September 29 to October 1, 2017 with indie quartet Everything Everything headlining Friday, electronic maestros Metronomy on Saturday, and legendary modern music heroes The Libertines closing the festival on Sunday.
Previously the festival at Margate's newly revamped theme park Dreamland has seen the likes Foals, Hot Chip, Wolf Alice, Super Furry Animals and Bat for Lashes perform in the venue's classic Roller Disco and the larger Hall by the Sea stage.
Dreamland will also play host to Pulp frontman and BBC Radio 6 Music host Jarvis Cocker in a DJ set similar to his appearance last year. Plus, as it's a theme park, there'll be rides, dodgems, and a fringe festival spreading out across the town Margate.
The venue also played host to the long-awaited comeback by Gorillaz, with Damon Albarn's animated band hosting their very own festival called Demon Dayz. Meanwhile, Alt-J and Slaves have been announced to play shows their own later in the year.
Tickets for By the Sea go on general sale this Friday, June 16 at 9am. Single-day, two-day and full weekend tickets will be available from See Tickets.
