Pilot convicted for flying while on pingers

A pilot for British airline easyJet has been convicted after flying under the influence a party-drug.

The 49-year-old father three was having trouble landing a commercial flight in Paris back in May, and admitted to having taken ecstasy; a habit he picked up during“nights out in Paris”.

During his recount the event, the pilot said he "had the sweats" and wasn't "feeling very well", which is fairly reasonable considering he was on bloody pingers while trying to land a giant f*#king plane.

In a statement following the incident, easyJet claim "The safety passengers and the crew EasyJet is our number one priority and we have a zero tolerance approach to drugs and alcohol".

"As a first ficer he would always have flown under the command an experienced easyJet Captain and had any Captain he flew with seen behaviour suggesting drug use or any other safety breaches on this pilot's flights we would have taken immediate action and stood the first ficer down from duty."

Not the kind thing you want you pilot taking pre flight, is it? Thankfully no one was hurt.

Over the weekend, the pilot was ficially banned from flying has been given a 12 month suspended jail sentence. During his court appearance he said this error was “inexcusable”, and that he had been “confident that the side effects the drug would disappear after two hours”.
