It has just been publicly announced that New York City's landmark concert venue Webster Hall will be closing this summer.

The world famous and historic destination was build in 1886 and has hosted some the most iconic artists on its stage, including Tina Turner, Metallica and Elvis Presley.

Webster Hall, which more recently became known as a vital component the city's growing electronic music scene through its Girls & Boys series, was also recognized as

Director Operations Gerard McNamee Jr. gave details in a personal Facebook post, elaborating on AEG's purchase the venue and plans to completely renovate the space.

Webster Hall will ficially close on Saturday August 5.
