Louis Tomlinson will stick with his former X Factor mentor Simon Cowell as he ventures out on a solo career.

The One Director star has announced that he's signed with Cowell's Syco label as he follows in the footsteps former bandmates Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Liam Payne in creating his own signature sound.

"I'm very happy to have signed," Louis told The Sun. "I'm excited to be continuing my relationship with Syco, and also working with the brilliant team at RCA in the US.

"I've been working really hard in the studio and can't wait to show you what I've been writing. As always, I'd like to thank the fans for their unbelievable support."

We got the first taste solo Louis when he teamed up with mega-producer Steve Aoki for the inspirational collaborative track 'Just Hold On' late last year.

The song reached the top UK iTunes and rocketed to number-two in the ficial charts last December. A new single is apparently coming quite soon.

One little known fact about the track is that James Corden was originally supposed to join Louis and Steve Aoki on 'Just Hold On'— or at least that's what the Late Late Show parody below would lead you to believe:

Following fellow One Direction bandmate Harry Styles's first solo record topping UK and US album charts, Louis clearly has lty expectations to live up to with his own music.
