Hip hop is being used to treat depression at Cambridge University

Lyrics in hip hop could be a successful treatment for mental illness, according to psychiatrists at Cambridge University.

The Lancet Psychiatry medical journey mentions Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five's 'The Message' and Notorious B.I.G's 'Juicy' as songs being used as part the therapy.

It's believed those struggling with mental illnesses, such as depression or schizophrenia, can find solitude in lyrics detailing life difficulties.
