Daft Punk and Parcels Team Up for Funky Track “Overnight”

For the past two decades, artists have been scrambling for the highly coveted honor to collaborate with . But the duo remains elusive, fering their credits to a mere handful artists.

Berlin-based band have successfully snagged that honor, joining the ranks , , and . The group just , “,” produced and co-written by , otherwise known as the talented French duo, Daft Punk. The glossed over, delicious licks and subtle vocals pair elegantly, as the track closely mimics the masterful production behind 2013’s .

The five-member band behind the genius collaboration, Parcels, is relatively new. Formed in mid-2014, the pop-electro group blends elements electronica and funk disco, a perfect fit for a Daft Punk collaboration. The band describes their as an unplanned, chance encounter; they simply happened to be playing in Paris when they encountered the French duo.

“In 2016 sometime, we played in a small Paris club, underground. Our first French show,” Parcels told . “We brought all our energy to stage and the crowd matched it. The room became very warm, the crowd was grooving. Sometime during the set, little did we know, two robots entered. They liked it.”

The crew met again in early 2017, gathering at a secret location in Paris to record the funky, nu-disco track “Overnight.”
